DUAL ENROLLMENT

Dual enrollment is the simultaneous enrollment of students in high school and college.  Idaho Baptist College does allow for high school and home school students to enroll in college classes.  For dual enrollment, students must be at least 16 years old to take classes for college credit.  Home school students must complete the 10th grade equivalent English.  For college credit or to use the class for one of our diplomas, they can be counted once the student submits an official high school transcript or GED transcript and enrolls in a diploma program.  Home school students must meet Idaho requirements for completion of high school equivalency before applying for a diploma program or receiving college credit for courses completed.

CREDIT TRANSFERS

As credit transfers are always a decision made by each college or university;  students who take classes wishing to transfer them into another school should check with that school first to verify they will accept credits from the Seminary Extension.   In cases like this, we recommend that you have the registrar of that school contact the Seminary Extension to discuss our quality of curriculum and instruction.  Idaho Baptist College is a certified study center for the Seminary Extension, as such we uphold a high standard for every class we teach.

CLASSES AS HOME SCHOOL CURRICULUM

Because of the high quality of Seminary Extension classes, many parents have found value in using these classes as part of their home school curriculum.  So it is ok for them to enroll prior to the 10th grade English requirement as fulfillment of their home school credits.  However, only courses taken after that requirement may be used for college credit upon graduation.  They will receive an “S” or “U” for their final grade and transcripts would not show hours of credit for the courses.
